FINE ARTS
At Covenant Classical Christian School, the Fine Arts are an essential expression of man’s God-given creativity and a means of glorifying the Creator. Made in the image of God, man reflects divine creativity and interacts with the beauty, order, and meaning embedded in creation. Through common grace, man perceives and expresses truth, goodness, and beauty—though these can be distorted by sin. Art, therefore, must be evaluated and submitted to God’s standards of motive, worldview, content, and technical excellence.
Our Fine Arts program cultivates a Christian aesthetic that draws students to consciously appreciate the attributes of the Triune God, as revealed through Scripture and experienced through the senses and imagination.
We seek to recover a classical Christian understanding of the arts, recognizing them as valuable means of cultural engagement in obedience to both the dominion mandate and the Great Commission. Students learn to reflect on and enjoy God’s absolute values, to appreciate human creativity as a gift of grace, and to pursue excellence in both understanding and creating works of art that enrich culture and glorify God.
