Purpose

Covenant Cares Team exists to help students honor God by caring for what he has made.  Our school desires to teach children a biblical view of man's dominion over the earth so that they exercise responsible stewardship in relating to God's creation.

Guidelines and Meeting Times

The Covenant Cares Team is open to any interested students in grades one through six.  Students are required to pay a non-refundable fee of $10/year.  School rules for good behavior apply to Team meeting times.  The Team meets on the second and fourth Wednesdays from 3:00 to 3:45.

Meetings and Projects

Meetings include activities and projects related to the responsible use of natural resources.  Some topics will include reducing trash, reusing items, recycling, and composting.  Projects of the Covenant Cares team for the 2007-08 school year include: on-going , school-wide paper/aluminum recycling and composting, 'America Recycles Day' project of collecting boxes to be reused at Riverbanks Zoo for animal enrichment, Community and school phonebook recycle project, Motor oil recycling campaign, and a field trip to "Paper Stock."
