Ten Reasons to be Thankful for CCCS

The theologian Augustine (354-430) once heard someone ask a famous rhetorician what was essential to good speaking. The rhetorician responded, “Delivery! Delivery! Delivery!” As Christians we might ask, what is essential to godly living. While many answers would suffice, one answer surely would be “Thankfulness! Thankfulness! Thankfulness!”
Why is thankfulness so essential? Thankfulness is the outpouring of gratitude for the good things that God has given us. We are called to give thanks to God for all the ways that He has blessed us. So, as we think about Covenant Classical Christian School, why should we be thankful?
Allow me to present a “Top Ten” list of things for which we, as a school, should be thankful:
1. At CCCS we offer a Christian education. Students and teachers can and do discuss the Bible all the time. We do not separate the faith from study, as the public school mandate.
2. At CCCS we offer a classical education. Our Christian education develops hearts and our classical focus trains minds. That is a winning combination!
3. The Lord has blessed us with dedicated teachers. Many of teachers have taught for over 15 years. Our teachers put in countless hours to bless students with a quality education.
4. Our school enjoys a nurturing atmosphere. I can tell you from experience that teachers have a heart for students. They pray for them and encourage them in their walks with the Lord.
5. CCCS has involved parents. In our society parents are tempted to drop kids off at school and not worry about what happens during the day so long as students are safe. But at CCCS parents are involved in the life of the school through the PTO and Booster Club and through class opportunities.
6. Our small size allows students and faculty to develop close relationships with one another. Our excellent teacher to student ratio allows for greater one on one attention.
7. The Lord has blessed us with diversity. We have students from all sorts of backgrounds and churches. Our student reflects that God is building a kingdom from every tribe, tongue, and nation.
8. When compared to other schools our tuition is low. Private education, of any sort, hurts the wallet but at CCCS we try to keep tuition low so that a classical, Christian education can be for everyone.
9. Our school has oversight and accountability. The CCCS Board is comprised of individuals who devote their own free time to govern the school and help make it better. The session of Covenant Presbyterian Church prays for the school and provides wisdom when needed.
10. Every week our students engage in the greatest activity man can do—worship of the Lord. This year our students are taking an active role in leading worship in chapel and it is a delight to see them take ownership.
As you reflect on these things, and other things for which you are thankful to God for concerning CCCS, be sure to give Him the glory.
