Facilities

I graduated from W.J. Keenan High school in 1988. While in school I took building construction, and cabinet making, in which I received an award of excellence from the National Urban League. After graduating from school I joined the U.S. Navy as a builder. I attended Navy “A” school for builders. Following that I was stationed in Pearl Harbor, HI. While there I was involved in building pre-engineered building for Moral Welfare and Recreation, such as a child care center, and aerobics facilities. During my time there I was also involved with a major renovation project of Navy Housing as the Site Safety Supervisor. In my liberty time I worked as a security officer for Hawaii Protection Agency, and began small remodeling projects for both Military and Civilian personnel. From Hawaii I was transferred to Naval Air Station Corpus Christi TX. While in Texas I was in charge of the carpentry shop, and sidewalk replacement project. I was also involved in a special project with building an obstacle course for Three Rivers Prison correction officer S.W.A.T. team. I received an Honorable Discharge in 1993.

After getting out of the Military I worked for a renovation company here in Columbia, SC for two years. When I left that company I began working for my-self in the flooring industry, and doing subcontracting for insurance companies.

When I heard about the need at Covenant for someone to do the cleaning, and maintenance in 2001 I wanted to help where I could. In 2003 the position became fulltime. Since I’ve been here one thing I am glad of introducing is the installation of the computer network on our campus.

I am glad to be here serving God in this capacity. There are many areas of our campus that are in need of work, and I’m blessed to be here to see them come to pass. As we grow in enrollment, I am confident that our campus will also grow in development to reflect the quality of education our children receive. The Lord has blessed each and every one of us here to work with each other. I can say without hesitation this is the best group of people I have worked with. The Lord is truly good!
