CCCS - training students to be godly, to think clearly and biblically, with a worldview shaped by Scripture.

J.P. Stephens

History, Literature, Logic, and Rhetoric

I joined the faculty of CCCS in 2003 and have since taught Logic, Rhetoric, Literature, History, Government, Economics as well as other subjects. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Wake Forest University where I got my first taste of teaching in an Intervarsity Bible study and later led a Philosophy and film discussion group. This summer I completed my Master of Arts in Philosophy at USC. For the past four years, I have co-led a house church affiliated with The Shack campus ministry at USC.

As a student of philosophy, I’m excited to have the opportunity to guide other students as they learn to think critically and express their thoughts within a Christ-centered, classical environment. In my spare time, I play bass, harmonica, mandolin and other instruments in Lunch Money, Columbia’s only indie-rock band for kids.
